Women of Fearrington is a great way to meet neighbors, make friends, and learn about the surrounding community. And, through our Wonderful Options Fund and other fundraising projects, we proudly make a difference in the lives of women and children across Chatham County.
We’re an all-volunteer organization and, when you’re ready, there is always a committee that could use your help. Please complete this form with the team(s) you are interested in joining and someone will contact you.

Executive Board Positions
The executive board includes the Chair (or Co-Chairs), Vice Chair (or Co Vice Chairs), Treasurer and Secretary. View a brief description by clicking on each position.
Treasury Team
If you balance your checkbook every month—or could if you wanted to!—we can use your solid arithmetic skills to help us keep track of the money that fuels our good deeds in Chatham County. Not a math person, but like details and know your way around a keyboard? Data entry help wanted!
Secretary Team
The Secretary and her assistant prepare and distribute meeting notices and agendas and prepare, distribute, and maintain written minutes for the Board and Executive Committee meetings. These volunteers have eagle eyes (strong grammar and proofreading skills highly desirable) and command of the English language.
Community Outreach/Special Events Team
Community Outreach develops a series of social and enriching FUNdraising events between September and May for Fearrington and Galloway Ridge residents, friends and neighbors. Projects typically include a holiday celebration and spring luncheon, and creativity is welcome!
Cooking Classes Team
Can you whip up a family favorite? Raise a soufflé? Share your passion—or simply a favorite recipe—and teach a cooking class in your home! The team helps determine themes, menus, and schedules. Each chef determines class size and health protocols. Participants pay materials/supplies costs and a tax-deductible fee that goes towards the Wonderful Options Fund.
Grants Team
Springtime means grant applications and evaluation! Help us manage the process that assigns WoF FUNdraising dollars to nonprofits that serve Chatham women and children. This team manages input from members, outreach to potential grantees, and application screening, ensuring grants match WoF grant criteria.
Holiday Bakery & Market Team
Fresh home-baked goods and handcrafted cards and ornaments sold during this annual event leaven WoF’s Wonderful Option Fund account. Are you a teeny bit Elfin? Join us in baking, packaging, promoting, or distributing these scrumptious goodies and signature crafts during the first week of December.
Membership Team
Help us attract new members to WoF, whether newcomers to Fearrington and Chatham County, or long-time residents. We need gals to meet, greet and register attendees at our events, produce name tags, keep our membership rolls up-to-date, or engage in member-to-member outreach.
Program Team
Curious about the arts, history and culture outside your door? Join us in educating and entertaining Fearrington Village and Galloway Ridge residents during our seven general membership meetings between September and April each year. Help develop a list of topics and invite guest speakers who can enlighten us all.
Publicity Team
If you like to write, edit, snap photos or apply graphic arts, by joining this team you’ll help keep WoF members connected and help manage our brand. Many hands make light work of year-round deadlines.
Road Trips Team
Identifying, scheduling, publicizing, and supervising WoF road trips is a great way to learn about our surrounding history, arts, culture and cuisine. Destinations have included historic homes and businesses, museums, studios, nature walks and farms, to name a few. This team partners with WoF Programs to determine if there are thematic links, as well as other Fearrington clubs.
Small Group Gatherings Team
There are witty and wise women living throughout Fearrington—name the profession or avocation—and small gatherings allow members to find those with common interests, from books to walking to laughs over coffee or wine. This team sets a calendar for intimate gatherings and recruits hosts who open their living rooms or patios/decks for a sociable hour.
Sponsorship Team
You appreciate what Women of Fearrington adds to the quality of life in Fearrington Village, Galloway Ridge, and the far corners of Chatham County. You want to extend our mission of meeting the needs of underserved women and children through like-minded, select Business Sponsors who, in exchange for their significant financial donation to our Wonderful Options Fund, gain year-long exposure to our membership and guests.
Webmaster Team
You use a few apps on your smart phone, like to poke around on the internet, or have easy access to a “digital native” (i.e., teenager). You have a little experience using office software and 20 minutes to learn your way around Google Sites. Whether you’re an accomplished netizen or want to learn new skills, as a member of the Web team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our pages current and easy to navigate.
Wonderful Options Fund Team
If you’re able to write in the language of compassion, or the words “mail merge” don’t strike fear in your heart, you might want to help WoF issue two mailings about our Wonderful Options Fund, which benefits local women and children. Not a writer? Join us in updating our mailing list or a few hours stuffing envelopes. The friendly FHA Office team at the Gathering Place will print our letters and labels for us!
